MEET THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

February 25, 2021

It is an honor and a privilege to be writing this today. Never in a million years did I think that this broken little girl would one day have the opportunity to serve others in such an impactful way.

I am proud to be able to serve this community and our youth through Common Ground’s afterschool program which begins on April 6th. Over the past two and a half years many outstanding community leaders have put in countless hours to help Adams County break the cycle of generational poverty through CGYC (CG Youth Center), and we thank you.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in church ministry, am a certified life coach, and a graduate of the Indiana School of Philanthropy’s Principles & Techniques of Fundraising.  I am the founder and executive director of Transform Life Coaching which I began in 2017. For the past 8 years, I have been involved in leadership within Common Ground Church as a volunteer and staff member. I am a proud Big Brothers Big Sisters supporter and mentor to a Little Sister. My hobbies include crafts, art, spending time with family, board games, and vacationing in Florida as much as possible.

Not only have I been heavily involved in youth ministry for the past 15 years, my husband Chris and I have also raised seven children (six boys and one girl) over the last 28 years of our ma riage. They have taught me, and continue to teach me, many valuable parenting lessons and have shown me how uniquely created each child is even within our own families.

I bring to CGYC a heart that beats for our youth and the future of this generation.

Through the struggles of parenting and my involvement with youth ministry, there is no denying that our kids need more support and time with family, mentors, and leaders who care. I am excited to be leading this amazing team as we embark on this new journey that I believe will change the life of students, families, and our community.

Not only have I been heavily involved in youth ministry for the past 15 years, my husband Chris and I have also raised seven children (six boys and one girl) over the last 28 years of our marriage. They have taught me, and continue to teach me, many valuable parenting lessons and have shown me how uniquely created each child is even within our own families.

I hope you will join us as we lift our children up and out of poverty in Adams County! Through CGYC we have the opportunity to teach, invest, and change the future for our youth.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Simerman

CGYC Executive Director
